March 4th 2002 was a tragic day when seven brave American men lost their lives fighting to free the world from terrorism. Neil Roberts, a Navy Seal, was executed by Al Qaeda guerrillas having fallen from a helicopter in Afghanistan. More tragedy ensued as his six fellow Americans went back to rescue him. The courageous soldiers from 101st Airborne Division set out on a rescue mission but sadly their Chinook helicopter was shot down as they attempted to save their comrade. This was a day of true comradeship, bravery and heroism. They will always be remembered for their stoicism. Rest in peace... |
